Hoblitus - promoter of beauties
Hoblitus has a clear mission: to celebrate forgotten beauties; make them shine again .
Our cities are full of statues, buildings, history, art... What makes me sad is that no one cares.
For too long, the wonders that surround us have been overlooked. At Hoblitus, our mission is to restore people's taste for these beauties. To be clear, Hoblitus positions itself as a promoter of forgotten stories and beauties. This is also where the brand gets its name: 'oblitus' which means 'forgotten' in Latin.
The message like the medium
Instead of just producing for the sake of producing, we create clothes that tell a story. Each collection is carefully designed to highlight significant cultural elements. Textiles are ultimately just a medium that allows a message to be conveyed. Besides, Hoblitus doesn't really see itself as a clothing brand. The project could take many other forms. In the end only one thing matters: meaning.
How do we proceed ?
The clothes are 100% conceptualized by us. Every detail is studied: the cut, the materials, the thickness, the visuals, the printing methods... Once this is done, we group together all the information concerning each part in a 'techpack'. This file is then sent to one of our partner workshops in Asia (we plan to produce in Europe in the future if our growth allows us). The workshop is then responsible for creating a first sample which is then sent to us. Once recovered, we analyze the room and the changes to be made. We adjust the 'techpack' and order a second sample. And so on until we develop a product that meets our high standards.
Although the message always comes first, the quality of the products is never neglected. This is a point to which we pay particular attention. No concessions are made when it comes to the quality of our products. Although this increases production or shipping costs, the quality is still at the maximum. This is a crucial point in the creative design of our products.
After this long and tedious process, we order the stock from the workshop. Then comes the marketing stage, mainly deployed on social networks. Following this, we pack and ship the orders ourselves, with great care and attention. Sometimes gifts slip in.
Who is behind Hoblitus?
Only one person is behind this project. She’s actually the one who writes these lines!
Hoblitus, it's me: Max. I am 21 years old and I am a master's student in advertising and marketing. For the moment, I work 100% alone; from product design to shipping, including marketing, logistics and training. I learned everything on my own, mostly on the Internet. As you can imagine, this represents an enormous workload for a single person. What makes this possible is, above all, passion. Driven by entrepreneurship, I dedicate a large part of my life to this project.
Max is Hoblitus and Hoblitus is Max. This project brings together everything I love in life, graphics, photography, video, history... This brand is my world, my universe. I wanted to create a project that resembles me, with values that are dear to me. I think I'm on the right track, only time will tell.
